Search 'best Etsy rank tracker' and every list ranks the tools the same way — by price and feature count. They all skip the question that decides whether the number is real: how much of the page did the tool actually read? Etsy renders only about 12 of the 48 page-1 cards server-side and personalises the rest, so a confident '#37' with no context is a guess. Here is what each of the main tools actually reads — and which one tells you.
The short version
- The number that matters isn't your position — it is how much of the page the tool read to find it.
- eRank scans the top 500 on demand; RankHero and Insight Agent claim an 'exact position' without stating depth.
- Alura reads from your browser but doesn't document it; EHunt tracks 5 keywords in its web app.
- EverBee, Koalanda, Sale Samurai and Roketfy no longer track rank — don't trust older lists that say they do.
01The question nobody asks
Every 'best rank tracker' list sorts the tools by price and feature count. None of them asks the question that actually decides whether the number on your screen is real: how much of the page did the tool read to find it? When Etsy loads a search page, it sends only about a dozen listing cards in the HTML and streams the rest as the shopper scrolls — we measured this in our own reads. A server that fetches the page sees those twelve; anything deeper is either a separate, slower scan or an estimate. On top of that, Etsy personalises results by account, location and device, so there is no single position that is true for everyone. Keep that lens as you read the rest of this page: a tool is trustworthy in proportion to how honestly it tells you what it could and couldn't see.

02ListifyAI Rank Tracker
Start with the honest baseline. The ListifyAI Rank Tracker re-reads the real Etsy search page for each keyword you track, every morning, and labels how much of the page it saw on every reading — the daily ~12-slot server view, or the full page-1 grid from your own browser when you run a Deep Check with the free extension. Around the position it draws the measured market: competing listings, page-1 ad share, the median price and band, and the shop holding slot #1. It watches competitors on the same keyword, and emails you when a listing gains or loses five or more slots or crosses onto or off page 1.
- Reads from: live Etsy search (server, daily) plus the full grid from your browser via the extension
- Coverage stated: yes, on every reading — the whole point
- Free tier: free rank checker, 3 a day, no account
- Tracking and alerts: daily, 5 / 25 / 100 keywords, email alerts
- Discloses personalisation: yes
It won't print a position it didn't see. That restraint is the feature.
03eRank Rank Checker
eRank is the keyword-research standard, and its Rank Checker is a solid on-demand tool: it scans the top 500 listings, which is genuinely useful for a rough 'am I anywhere in the first 500?' read, and it is free ten times a day. The catch is the view: eRank's own help centre notes results can differ from what you see, because Etsy personalises search — and the checker gives you a position without a coverage label, saved history or alerts, so it is a manual spot-check rather than a tracker.
- Reads from: server scan of the top 500
- Coverage stated: no
- Free tier: 10 checks a day (paid raises the daily cap)
- Tracking and alerts: no automated daily tracking or alerts
- Discloses personalisation: yes, in its help centre
Great for research; pair it with a tracker if you want the change measured over time.
04RankHero Rank Check
RankHero (formerly EtsyCheck) has a clean, no-signup Rank Check across seven markets, free three times a day — handy for a quick international spot-check. The catch is the claim: it markets an 'exact position' and doesn't state how deep it scans or how much of the page it read, and there is no saved history or alerts.
- Reads from: server, seven markets
- Coverage stated: no; markets an 'exact position'
- Free tier: 3 checks a day
- Tracking and alerts: no
- Discloses personalisation: not prominently
Fine for a fast look; the missing depth and coverage are the reasons to treat its number as approximate.
05Alura Search Rankings
Alura is an all-in-one suite, and its Search Rankings feature actually reads from your own browser through the Alura extension — closer to a buyer's view than a pure server scan. The catch is that it is barely documented: it is not on Alura's pricing page, and their own advice for personalisation is to log out and clear cookies, which tells you they know the view is skewed but leave the workaround to you. No coverage label.
- Reads from: your browser, via their extension
- Coverage stated: no
- Free tier: limited free plan
- Tracking and alerts: on demand, not a documented daily tracker
- Discloses personalisation: implicitly (log-out advice)
The browser read is the right idea; the missing documentation and coverage labelling are the gap.
Every list ranks these tools by price. The one thing that decides whether the number is real — how much of the page it read — is the one thing they leave out.
Track rank with the coverage label.

06EHunt and Insight Agent
Two more worth naming. EHunt has Keyword Tracking in its web app — daily, up to five keywords, top 50 — a real tracker at a low price; just note that its Chrome extension called 'Etsy Rank Tool' is actually product research, not rank tracking, and its own FAQ puts accuracy around 80%. Insight Agent runs programmatic rank-tracker pages, credit-based, and states '48 results per page' — but claims an 'exact position number' without saying how many of those 48 it reads, and it is US only.
- EHunt: web-app tracker, daily, 5 keywords, top 50; the extension is product research
- Insight Agent: programmatic pages, credit-based, 'exact position' claim, US only
Both can be useful; both would be stronger if they told you their coverage.
07Tools that no longer track rank
Be careful with older 'best of' lists, because several credit tools with rank tracking they no longer offer. EverBee retired its Listing Rank Tracker in 2024, and its current pricing pages show no rank feature. Koalanda is built on the Etsy API, which can't read the shopper-visible search grid at all. Sale Samurai and Roketfy show no rank tracking on their current pricing or feature pages. If a list tells you one of these is a great rank tracker, it is out of date — check the tool's own pricing page before you trust it.
- EverBee: rank tracker retired 2024
- Koalanda: Etsy API, can't read the grid
- Sale Samurai and Roketfy: no rank tracking today
Several popular lists still credit EverBee, Koalanda, Sale Samurai or Roketfy with rank tracking. Their current pricing pages show none — the feature was retired or never existed. Check the source before you trust it.
08How to choose
Strip away the feature lists and the choice is simple. If you want a free spot-check, eRank (top 500) or the ListifyAI free checker (visible top, coverage-labelled) both do the job — pick eRank for depth, the checker for an honest denominator. If you want ongoing tracking that tells you whether your changes are working, you want daily reads, saved history, alerts and, above all, a coverage label so you know what each reading saw. That is the gap most of the category leaves open, and it is exactly what the ListifyAI Rank Tracker is built around: check one listing free first, then track it every morning from $9 a month. Whatever you choose, apply the one test that separates a measurement from a vanity number — does it tell you how much of the page it read?
